the solar boat museum
Ancient Egyptians used to bury a huge boat called the "Solar boat " near the tomb of their pharaoh
because they believed that their ruler will need to transfer by a boat to the afterlife.
In 1954, the parts of a cedar-wood barge were found in near the Great Pyramid of Khufu.
The barge was restored and assembled out of 1200 pieces of wood and it is displayed, since then,
in a glass museum in Giza , The discovery of the Solar Boat,
its restoration and its current preservation can only be described as amazing.
